Watching my mother battle breast cancer showed me not just the warrior spirit of those fighting this disease, but also the small comforts that helped make her journey more bearable: stylish shoes and cozy blankets that brightened even the toughest days of treatment.
I founded Cancer Kicks in 2024, during my freshman year of high school, with a simple goal: to support breast cancer research while providing comfort to those in treatment. Now in my senior year, I've grown it into an independently incorporated 501(c)(3) nonprofit (not a fiscal sponsorship) with a catalog of 90+ customizable products, corporate and team partnerships across the DC area, and national media coverage.
I handle every part of the operation myself: web development, product design, marketing, partnerships, customer service, and the financial and legal compliance that comes with running a registered charity.
This isn't just a charity I started. It's an organization I've built and run for three years and counting. Every purchase supports vital research while offering comfort to those fighting their own battles. Together, we can make a difference, one small comfort at a time.

How It Started
Designing the First Product
My mom wore pink Converse through every round of chemo, so the first thing I designed was a pair of customized shoes inspired by them. That became the starting point for everything else in the catalog.
Filing the Paperwork
Getting Cancer Kicks registered as an independent 501(c)(3) meant learning how nonprofit law actually works, with help from pro bono legal counsel to get it right.
Landing the First Partner
Titan Farms became our first corporate partner, the moment Cancer Kicks stopped being just a personal project and started being a real business.
